Leipzig Ranks in Top Ten of Europe’s Most Livable Cities
Leipzig and Rostock have made it into the top ten most livable cities in Europe according to a survey conducted by the European Commission in Brussels. These two cities from eastern Germany are the only ones from the country that were featured in the report. Leipzig secured the fourth position with 95% satisfaction rate among the respondents, while Rostock was placed eighth with 94% satisfaction rate. The survey included cities such as Berlin, Dortmund, Essen, Hamburg, Munich, and Rostock from Germany. A total of 83 cities in Europe were compared using various criteria including infrastructure, healthcare, culture, safety, environment, education, and job situation.
Earlier this year, Leipzig achieved a remarkable milestone by entering the top ten list of Europe’s most livable cities. This achievement speaks volumes about the quality of life and the positive experiences that residents have in this vibrant city.
“Leipzig’s high ranking in the survey is a testament to the city’s commitment to improving the overall well-being of its residents. From well-developed infrastructure to a thriving cultural scene, the city offers a multitude of opportunities that contribute to the high level of satisfaction among its residents.”
One of the key factors considered in the survey was the satisfaction with the inclusivity of the city. Leipzig, known for its welcoming and diverse community, scored impressively in this aspect as well. The survey conducted by the EU Commission has been ongoing since 2007 and involved interviews with around 840 residents in each European city, totaling more than 70,000 interviews.
